Post Harvest Drying

Post Harvest Drying is the most critical step after harvesting the rice crop and involves rapid drying of products to safe-moisture levels. Higher moisture levels lead to grain discolouration, stress cracks, microbial, and pest attacks. Drying reduces the grains’ natural moisture content up to 12-14%, which is a safe level for storage and further processing. This enhances the shelf life of rice and increases its HRR%.

Types of Dryers

Harvest Dryers

    • Removes natural moisture

Process Dryers

    • Removes artificial moisture
    • Ensures uniform drying and product quality
    • Controlled conditions for less utility consumption
    • Precise regulation of kernel temperature
